JICA to help Bangladesh to make population human resources
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will help Bangladesh to make its population human resources along with helping the government to implement different development projects.
JICA Chief Representative Takatoshi Nishikat said this while paying a courtesy call on Local Government, Rural Development & Cooperative Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain at his secretariat office here today, said a press release.
Referring to Bangladesh's friendly relations with Japan, the minister, at the meeting, said the Japanese government is the biggest development partner of Bangladesh and JICA is contributing a lot to strengthen the local government, the release said.
The minister also urged JICA to work with the government on safe drinking water supply and sanitation technology.
JICA chief in Bangladesh appraised the minister of the progress of 11 ongoing projects involving Taka 14,000 crore which are being implemented in different government institutions under the Ministry of Local Government with the assistance of JICA, added the release.
