2 more hajj flights cancelled over visa problems

Two more hajj flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines were cancelled due to shortage of pilgrims for visa complications.

Managing director of the Biman Shakil Miraz confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.

The flights - BG-5045 and BG-3053 - were scheduled to take off for Saudi Arabia at 5am on Wednesday morning and 4:35pm in afternoon respectively.

With these, a total of 19 flights have been cancelled during this hajj session.

The first pre-hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left for Saudi Arabia with 419 Bangladeshi pilgrims on July 24. The last date of pre-hajj flight is August 26.

As many as 1,27,198 pilgrims are scheduled to perform hajj this year.
