New anti-terrorism unit on card: Monirul

Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said today militants have no power to conduct on a large scale attack as their operational capacities have already been destroyed, reports BSS.

“Formation of an anti-terrorism unit is under process. The strength to combat militancy will be increased upon formation of the new unit,” he told the inaugural function of a spoken English course for the members of Crime Reporters Association Bangladesh (CRAB) here as the chief guest.

The CRAB organized the function at Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha here with its president Abu Saleh Akon in the chair.

CRAB general secretary Sarwar Alam moderated the function. Among others, DRU general secretary Morsalin Nomani and 'BD Young Stars, Chairman M Sabbir Sarker spoke on the occasion.
