2 more Hajj flights cancelled

The authorities of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Monday morning cancelled two scheduled Hajj flights due to shortage of pilgrims for visa complications.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines General Manager (public relations) Shakil Meraj confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.

He said: “One flight was scheduled to fly for Saudi Arabia at 10:55am today and the other was supposed to leave Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:55am tomorrow.”

As many as 127,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh are set to perform the annual ritual this year.

Biman and Saudi Arabian Airlines would carry equal number of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

The maiden pre-hajj flight started on July 24. The last date of pre-hajj flight is August 26.
