Dhaka Water Conference begins on Saturday
A two-day 'Dhaka Water Conference -2017' is set to begin tomorrow in the capital.
Representatives of 27 countries including Delta Coalition Region, south Asia, South-East Asia and East Asia, will take part in the conference.
The main theme of the conference is 'water sustains development'.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference with a view to achieving seven Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through optimum use of water.
A total of 82 foreign representatives, including ministers, state ministers from the participant's countries are expected to attend the conference to be held at Pan pacific Sonargaon hotel here.
Four technical sessions on safe water, sanitation, water quality and use and integrated water management will be held in the conference.
Dhaka Water Declaration will be adopted following recommendations by the participant's countries at the end of the conference.
