4 killed in Dhaka, Kushtia ‘gunfights’

Four alleged criminals were killed in three separate ‘gunfights’ with law enforcers in Dhaka, Kushtia early Wednesday.

Police claimed four people as snatchers and robbers killed in Kushtia’s Sadar and Bheramara, Dhaka’s Beribadh.

In Dhaka, two people were killed and a police member injured in an alleged gunfight at Beribadh area. Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. Police claimed the victim as snatchers.

Acting on a tip-off, a gang of snatchers were taking preparation to commit mugging in the area. Sensing presence of the police, the snatcher opened fire on them. In self-defense, police fired back. Later bullet-hit injured two people were recovered from the spot and sent hospital where the doctors declared them dead, said Md. Shahadat Hussain, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Pollobi Zonal Commissioner.

Joynul Abedin, Kushtia Additional Superintendent of Police told Jagonews24.com that, two robbers were killed in gunfight in Kushtia’s Sadar and Bheramara.
