`Give attention to journalist’s salary disparities`
President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday urged government to give due attention to journalist’s salary disparities following the announcement of new pay scale.
The President said this at the inaugural session of the biennial conference of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.
Mentioning that journalists feel a sense of disparity after the announcement of pay scale for government employees, Abdul Hamid hoped that the government would give proper attention to it and their problems will be solved soon.
I can assure you, as the President, my door is open for you always. I must do which is possible on my part, he added.
DUJ acting president Atiqur Rahman Chowdhury chaired the programme addressed by, among others, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, Prime Minister’s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, National Press Club President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, BFUJ acting president Zafar Wazed and DUJ General Secretary Kuddus Afrad.
