4 men surrender at Ashulia ‘militant den’

Four suspected militants have surrendered before the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during a drive of the elite force at Ashulia residence of Savar upazila in Dhaka.

Identities of them could not be known immediately.

RAB members cordoned off the area early Sunday suspecting it to be a militant den.

In the morning, RAB Media wing director Mufti Mahmud told reporters that several rounds of bullet were fired and bomb was hurled towards the law enforcers from inside of the house.

The law enforcers also retaliated, in replying the shooting.

However, one Ibrahim, owner of the house, said in an interrogation that one Azad rented the house, claiming himself as a garment worker, nearly two months ago.
