Madrasa teacher hacked to death in Khulna

A madrasa teacher was hacked to death by some unidentified miscreants at Koyra upazila here early Thursday, reports BSS.

The deceased was identified as Mowlana Abdul Hye, 58, vice-principal of Koyra Siddiqia Fazil Madrasa and son of late Sheikh Shohor Ali.

Quoting locals, police said a gang of unidentified miscreants hacked Abdul Hye to death in the early hours of the day and later dumped the body in a pond adjacent to his house located at No-4 Koyra village.

On receiving information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) morgue for an autopsy. Police also recovered a sharp weapon used in the killing from the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Koyra Police Station Md Enamul Haque said severe injury marks were found at his throat.

He might have been killed over family dispute, said the OC, adding that a case was filed in this connection.

Police have started an investigation to know the reason behind the killing.
