Daughter killed by mother

A mother attempted to commit suicide after killing her minor daughter over a family feud.

The incident took place at Taraganj village under Lalmohan upazila in Bhola on Monday evening.

According to local sources, Surma (35), wife of Abul Kashem, who works as a day labourer in Dhaka, first poured poison into the mouth of her daughter Busra (10), and then took the same following a feud with her husband over his second marriage.

Later, locals sent them to Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared Busra dead.

Officer-in-charge of Lalmohan Police Station Aktaruzzaman visited the spot.
