Bangladesh glaring example of communal harmony: Sinha

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha today said Bangabandhu’s daughter and incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been accomplishing Bangladesh’s development maintaining secularism and religious harmony.

“Bangladesh is now floating in the tide of development and within a few years the country will experience progress like a European nation,” he said while inaugurating the reconstructed Sree Chandmoni Rokkhyakali Temple in Kapria Patti area in the city.

Sushma Swaraj, wife of Surendra Kumar Sinha, former Election Commissioner Sohul Hossain, former District Judge Dewan Md Shafiullah, Ramkrishna Mission Secretary Swami Bishwesharnanda, Deputy Commissioner Md Jahangir Alam and Police Super Md Shah Abid Hossain, among others, addressed the function with Acting District and Sessions Judge Begum Jebunnessa in the chair.

He said Bangladesh is a glaring example of religious harmony across the world. Peoples of all religions have been living here peacefully, he added.

Sinha urged all to supplement the government’s efforts for overall development of the country as well as maintaining law and order.
