Anti-militancy drive in Gaibandha ends, nothing found

Members of law enforcement agencies ended anti-militancy raids in remote char areas of Fulchori upazila in Gaibandha after they found nothing while searching militant dens.

The drive began early Thursday headed by Md. Mainul Haque, additional police super (B-circle) of Gaibandha police, and ended at 10am.

A total of seventy officials of law enforcement agencies including Detective Branch (DB) of police, Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit and a joint team of district police took part in the operation.

Md. Mainul Haque, additional police super (B-circle) of Gaibandha police said that they found nothing and couldn’t detain anyone.

“We couldn’t see any male members in the area during the drive,” he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, law enforcers detained a robber while conducting drives in char areas of Kamarzani and Mollarchar union.
