Illegal structures of 4 residential areas have to remove

The High Court directed the owners of all unauthorised structures to remove their installations from Gulshan, Banani, Dhanmondi and Baridhara areas in Dhaka within next 10 months.

The HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and AKM Jahirul Haque delivered the verdict after disposing of 233 writ petitions on Wednesday.

The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) issued a notice in 2015 to remove the illegal structure from Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara.

The owners of the structure then filed separate writ petitions with the HC challenging the legality of RAJUK’s notice.
