Top human trafficker arrested in Cox’s Bazar

A top human trafficker was held from Nayarpara in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar district early on Sunday.

Teknaf Police Station officer-in-charge Ataur Rahman Khandaker ensured this to journalist.

He said, acting on a tip off, a team of police conducted a raid on the house of Shamsul Alam Markin, 60, in the area and arrested him at about 2am.

Shamsul’s name is on three lists of human traffickers, drug and arms smugglers prepared by the Home Ministry, he added.
