Five militants killed by bullets and splinters

Five militants who were killed during the joint forces’ operation at Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan last year were hit by bullets and splinters, according to the forensic report.

The authority of Dhaka Medical College Hospital submitted the report to the police on Saturday, Dr. Sohel Mahmud, the head of the Forensic department confirmed.

The investigation officer of the case received the report at 1:15pm, he said.

The killed militants are Nibras Islam, Mir Sameh Mubasser, Ruhan Ibn Imtiaz, Khairul Islam Payel and Shafiqul Islam.

Counter terrorism unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is investigating the case but it failed to submit investigation report to the court though one year of the incident has been past.

Monirul Islam, the chief of counter terrorism unit, hoped that they would be able to submit the report by this year.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal recently said that a flawless charge-sheet would be submitted soon.

The armed militants carried out an attack on the café and killed 22 people including two police officers and 17 foreign nationals on July 1 last year.
