Security to be provided to writers, publishers and bloggers

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah said, special security will be provided to writers, publishers and bloggers at Ekushey Boi Mela if they want.

DMP Commissioner said this while addressing at a press briefing at DMP Media Centre on Sunday morning.

He also informed that DMP will construct seven watch towers in and around the book fair and Dhaka University campus as a part of the security measure.

No one will be allowed to stay in the adjacent parks except the fair premises after 5:30pm, he said.

The law enforcers have made a remarkable and satisfactory development in the writer blogger Avijit Roy’s murder case, the police official said while replying to a question in this regard.

Joint Commissioner of DB in DMP Monirul Islam and high-ups of the police were present among others during this time.
