Three killed, 15 injured as bus overturns in Khagrachhari

At least three people were killed and 15 others injured as a passenger bus on Khagrachhari-Chittagong Highway overturned after hitting a roadside tree in Kalapani area under Guimara upazila of the district this morning.

The victims were identified as Torikui Islam, 20, son of Bakir Faraji, Ripon Nesa, 23, husband of M Younus Ali and his daughter Jannatul Ferdous, 4.

Officer-in- charge (OC) of Guimara Thana police Shafiqul Islam said the accident occurred when the passenger bus overturned in the area around 10am after hitting a tree as its driver lost control over the steering, killing three people on the spot and 15 others injured.

The injured were admitted to Guimara Upazila Health Complex, the OC said.
