Road crash kills 2 in Mymensingh

Two people were killed in a road crash on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Kazirshimla area in Trishal upazila under Mymensingh district on Tuesday.

The dead were identified as Abdus Sobhan, 65, and his granddaughter Sumi, 11.

Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Trishal Police Station, said the accident took place around 10:00 am when a pick-up van hit the duo while crossing the road, leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to local hospital morgue.

Outraged by the accident, locals put barricade on the highway, disrupting traffic for an hour.
