Garment workers block roads in Kalyanpur

Garment workers in Kalyanpur blocked roads on Saturday afternoon demanding payment of three months’ due salary and festival bonus for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

The workers took to the streets around 1:00 pm as the authorities of Monde Apparels Ltd did not pay salaries for the month of April, May and June on Saturday, according to their earlier promises.

The blockade created acute traffic jams on roads from Farmgate-Dhanmondi to Shamoli and in the west side from Gabtoli to Amin Bazar.

Darus Salam Police Station OC (Investigation) Farukuzzaman said, “We are trying to contact with the authorities.”
