Bangladeshi Musa Ibrahim hoists national flag on Mount Carstensz

Now Musa Ibrahim, first Bangladeshi national who reached the summit of Mount Everest, brought another milestone for Bangladesh when he climbed Mount Carstensz.

Musa Ibrahim confirmed the matter to Jago News. He hoisted Bangladesh flag on the peak of Mount Carstensz around 11:45am (local time) on June 13.

Musa along with his two teammates - Satyarup Siddhanta and Nandita Chandra Shekhar- from India was stranded at a base camp for five days after conquering the peak of Mount Carstensz.

Earlier on Saturday, Md. Abdul Manan, an employee of press institute of Bangladesh, confirmed the matter through a Facebook post citing Musa’s sister Nur Ayesha.

Then, a drive was conducted in order to recover them on Sunday. But they couldn’t manage to rescue them due to inclement weather.

When contacted by Jago News through satellite device to know their condition on the same day, Musa informed that they were in a safe position.

Meanwhile, Musa Ibrahim and his teammates were already rescued on Monday. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all his well wishers.

On May 29, Musa left Dhaka for his new expedition ‘Bangladesh-India Friendship’ to scale up Carstensz Pyramid, the highest mountain in Australia and Oceania (4,884 metre).
