Musa Ibrahim trapped on the highest mountain of Oceania

Bangladesh’s first Mount Everest conqueror Musa Ibrahim has been trapped at the base camp of Mount Carstensz Pyramid, the highest mountain peak of Oceania continent, in Papua New Guinea due to bad weather.

Md. Abdul Manan, an employee of Press Institute of Bangladesh, wrote this in his facebook post quoting Musa’s sister Nur Ayesha.

Musa was leading a team of three climbers to conquer the mountain peak. The other climbers are Indian Satyarup Siddhanto and Nandita Chandrashekhar.

They have been stuck at the base camp for three days and are facing food crisis there, according to the facebook post.

A helicopter was supposed to rescue them on Saturday morning but that was postponed due to adverse weather.

In the facebook post, the government’s support was sought for rescuing them from there.
