Bangladesh Ranks 13th in Corruption Position

Bangladesh has been ranked thirteen among the most corrupt countries in the latest ratings by Transparency International (TI), climbing one degree up the watchdog’s corruption-measuring barometer.

The country’s position on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) of the TI was 14th last year.

This information was informed through a press conference which held at Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) office in Dhaka on Wednesday.

The program was chaired by the chairperson of TIB trusty board Advocate Sultana Kamal.

Executive Director of TIB Iftekharuzzaman and Member M. Hafizuddin Khan were present among others.

Bangladesh’s position has gone down sharply from the top in terms of curbing corruption losing one score indicating that the country`s corruption scenario deteriorated, according to Transparency International`s annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).

Transparency International, the Berlin-based global anti-corruption watchdog, released the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) all over the world.

It provides, in a scale of 0-10, international rankings of countries in terms of perceived degree of prevalence of political and administrative corruption.
