13 shops gutted in Gazipur

Fire gutted thirteen shops that broke out at a New Market area of Konabari area in Gazipur early on Wednesday.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit inside a shop and soon engulfed twelve other adjacent shops at about 3:45am, said Fire brigade official said.
Eight firefighting units from Gazipur, Kaliakoir, Tongi, Joydebpur and Savar EPZ went to the spot and doused the flame after one and a half hours with the help of locals.
