HC grants bail to Afsan Chowdhury

The High Court (HC) today granted anticipatory bail to BRAC University teacher and columnist Afsan Chowdhury in a case lodged under section 57 of the ICT act.

A High Court vacation bench comprising Justice Zinat Ara and Justice S.M. Mozibur Rahman passed the order, asking Chowdhury to surrender before trial court within the time.

Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury filed the case recently with Gulshan Police Station against Chowdhury for allegedly spreading false information about the former army officer on Facebook.
