Trawler capsizes in Meghna, 20 missing

At least twenty people went missing after a trawler capsized in Meghna river of Chandpur on Tuesday morning.

Additional Superintendent of shipping Police in Chandpur D. M. Nuruzzaman ensured this to Jagonews24.com.

He said, it sank after being hit by an oil-laden vessel in Haimchar upazila around 9:30am.

Ali further said, many of the passengers managed to swim ashore after the incident. But twenty are still missing since the incident.

Police and locals are carrying out a search operation, he added.

However, Minister for disaster management and relief  Mofazzal Hosen Chowdhury Maya reached to the spot.
