Police week begins today

The Police Week-2016 has started on Tuesday at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the four-day programme.

She will take salute in the annual parade of 13 contingents of police forces in the inaugural session.

The Prime Minister will handover awards in four categories to 102 police members, including police officers, for their outstanding performance in 2015.

102 police officers and constables will be awarded with Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President Police Medal (PPM) for their bravery and heroism in their services in last one year.

Of the policemen, 19 will get the BPM award and 40 will receive the PPM award, 23 will get BPM-Service award and 40 others to get PPM-service award.

The Police Week 2016 will conclude on Friday.
