Police gun down 2 dacoit suspects in Naogaon

Two dacoit suspects were gunned down and two others injured by police at Manda Upazila in Naogaon around 12.30am on Thursday.

The deceased are Mozammel Haque, 40, son of Amzad, hailing from Nachol Upazila of Chapai Nawabganj and Sujon, 35, son of Nazrul Islam, hailing from Rajshahi.

Mahbub Alam, officer-in-charge of Manda Police Station, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.

According to police, 7 to 8 dacoits were taking preparation to commit robbery in the area. Sensing presence of police, they tried to flee away riding by truck. Police members opened fire on the truck and at that time two dacoits killed on the spot and two others injured.

The injured men under the police custody were taken to upazila health complex. Police also recovered home-made arms from their possession.
