No evidence of Banani two girls rape found

No evidence of rape was found in forensic tests of the two private university girls, who were allegedly raped by Shafat Ahmed and Shadman Sakif at the Raintree Hotel in Banani on March 28.

Dr Sohel Mahmud, Head of forensic department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.

He handed over the reports to the police on Thursday noon.

The two girls filed a case on May 6 with Banani police against Shafat Ahmed, Nayem Ashraf, Shadman Sakif, Shafat’s driver Billal Hossain and his bodyguard Rahmat Ali.

Police recorded the case after a 48-hour delay. The plaintiffs said their rapists had threatened and pressured them to withdraw the case.

Shafat, son of one of the owners of Apan Jewellers, and his friend Nayem raped the girls at gunpoint and recorded the incident on mobile phone.

Shafat and Shadman were arrested in Sylhet on May 11. Shafat’s driver Billal and bodyguard Rahmat were arrested on 15 May while Nayem was apprehended on May 17.
