Vessel labors strike from Jan 26

Vessel labor has warned to go on an indefinite strike from January 26 midnight demanding a fifteen-point charter of demands including announcement of Tk ten thousand as minimum wage.

Ashikul Alam Patal, Secretary General of Bangladesh Noujan Sramik Federation, declared the strike in a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity Auditorium on Sunday.

The vessel labors demands mainly include a new pay structure along with implementation of Fishing Trawler Wage Gazette, cancellation of the plan to supply oil through pipelines, ensure navigability and safety of waterways.

The federation urged the government to meet their demands by the deadline; otherwise they would have no choice but to go ahead with the strike plan.
