Benazir Ahmed, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), said that the tight security will be taken across the venues over upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup.

The Director General of RAB said this while addressing a press conference after a meeting with the officials of ICC and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at a hotel in the capital’s Uttara on Saturday.

The ICC and BCB officials have expressed satisfaction over the security plans.

Benazir Ahmed said, a vehicle scanner can work more than two hundred forces within short time.

During the World Cup, hotel and venues will be tightly cordoned.

We have already set up modern technology across the areas such as vehicle scanner, dog squad, GPS system and setting up of venue operation command, he further said.

The upcoming ICC U-19 World Cup will be held at eight venues of four districts in the country on January 27.
