BGB sets up central border surveillance system
Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has set up a central surveillance system with modern technology at its headquarters in Pilkhana.
BGB Director General Major General Abul Hossain today inaugurated the new surveillance system that was installed as a part of implementing Bangladesh smart border management system in line with the government`s ongoing endeavour to build a digital Bangladesh, a BGB press release said here today.
Under the central border surveillance system, a large digital display has been set up that will help to centrally monitor all outposts along frontiers from Dhaka.
From now on, BGB officials from the headquarters will be able to connect with all border outposts through conference. They will also have access to watch live CCTV footages of outposts from Dhaka. The BGB officials can access to Satellite map through the display. Different messaging systems like skype, imo, viber and whatsapp can also be used through the surveillance system.
Moreover, the BGB officials will be able to monitor eight television channels at a time on the display.
Apart from this, the BGB will also keep updating its existing webpage with new contents and information.
