Cyber policy being made to protect online: Inu

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Sunday said the government is formulating a cyber law, online policy and broadcast law to give institutional protection to the all online and electronic media, reports BSS.

The minister said this while speaking as chief guest at a seminar titled "Sate of Journalism in Bangladesh within the Context of Freedom of Expression" at an auditorium of Bangladesh Press Institute (PIB) here.

Bangladesh Center for Development, Journalism and Communication (BCDJC) organized the seminar with the assistance of UNESCO Bangladesh.

Prime Minister`s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury addressed the seminar as special guest. PIB Director General Md Shah Alamgir presided over the meeting while Ekushy Television Chief Executive Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul moderated it.

Human rights researcher Advocate Sultana Kamal, Dhaka University Journalism and Mass Communication Professor Giti Ara Nasrin and TV personality Muhammad Jahangir, among others, addressed it.

Dhaka University Television, Film and Photography Professor AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan presented a keynote paper in the seminar.
