HC releases full verdict in blogger Rajib murder case
The High Court (HC) on Sunday released its full verdict that awarded death sentence to two convicts in blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider murder case, reports BSS.
The full verdict of 163 pages was released after Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md. Jahangir Hossain signed on it. It is also on the website of the Supreme Court.
With releasing of the full verdict, the convicts can file appeals against the HC verdict with the Appellate Division.
Earlier on April 2, the HC upheld the lower court verdict awarding death sentences to two accused and life term imprisonment to another.
The convicts in connivance with each other indiscriminately stabbed blogger and Ganojagaran Mancha activist Rajib to death near his residence at Palashnagar, Kalshi under Pallabi Police Station on February 15, 2015.
Dr. Nazim Uddin, father of the victim, filed a murder case to this end.
A Dhaka court on December 31, 2015 sentenced death penalty to two private university students, Redwanul Azad Rana and Faisal Bin Nayem alias Dweep and life term imprisonment to Maksudur Rahman Anik.
It also sentenced 10 years imprisonment to Ehsan Reza Rumman, Naim Erad and Nafiz Imtiaz and five-year rigorous imprisonment to Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani, supremo of the banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).
