The 10 bottles liquor seized from a room of the Raintree Hotel is foreign-made, according to a chemical test report by Department of Narcotics Control.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) director general Moinul Khan confirmed the matter to newsmen on Monday.

He said that the sample of the seized liquor was sent to Narcotics Control Department and CIID on Monday received a report signed by Dr. Dulal Chandra Saha, the chief chemist of the department.

Mentioning that the seized wine contains 13.49 percent alcohol, Moinul Khan said, “The report termed the liquor ‘foreign-made’.”

CIID officials conducted a raid at The Raintree Hotel and recovered 10 bottles of liquor from a room of the hotel, where two university students were reportedly raped in late March.

However, the hotel authority failed to show any legal documents of importing liquor and it also had no bar license.
