Nayem Ashraf remanded for 7 days
Nayem Ashraf alias Md. Abdul Halim, one of the accused of rape of two university students in Raintree hotel at Banani, placed on 7- day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zamman ordered his remand when Ismat Ara Emi, inspector of victim support centre also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the court and sought 10- day remand prayer.
“A special team of police headquarters arrested Nayem from Louhajang upazila of Munshiganj at 8:40pm on Wednesday”, AKM Shahidul Haque, inspector general of police told Jago News.
Earlier police arrested four other accused Safat, son of Apan Jewellers owner Dildar Ahmed and Regnum group director Sakif, Safat’s driver Billal and bodyguard Azad.
Two university students were raped in a birthday party in the Raintree hotel at Banani on March 28. They filed a case accusing five including Safat with Banani police station On May 6.
