Injured AL leader succumbs, 6 held

A local leader of ruling Awami League (AL), who received injuries in a clash at Azimpur in the capital, has succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday morning.

The deceased is Sahabuddin Sabu, 45, son of Abdul Jalil of Lalbagh Kasmeritola.  He is the supporter of independent MP and AL leader Hazi Mohammad Selim.On the other hand, police arrested six men in their alleged connection with the murder from Lalbagh area this morning.

The detainees are- Mofiz, Babu, Alam, Anawar, Masud and Alamgir. Robin Rahman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lalbagh Police Station confirmed the arrest to risingbd.com.

On Saturday night, Sabu’s wife filed a case with Lalbagh Police Station accusing 12 named and 12 unnamed men in this connection.

On Friday, activists of ALleaders Haji Selim and Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin clashed over establishing supremacy at a kitchen market in capital’s Azimpur area.
