Garcetti compares Bangabandhu with Washington

The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who is the architect of independent Bangladesh, is like George Washington, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, said American politician Gil Garcetti.

Echoing the contributions of Bangabandhu to Bangladesh, Gil Garcetti, who is also the Cultural Ambassador at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, said, “It is rare in the world history, what he did for a country and a nation.”

The history and ideals of Bangabandhu’s life are imitative to everyone, he added.

In an interview with Jagonews24.com, Garcetti said this at his residence in Los Angeles on Saturday morning (Local time).

Garcetti recently visited the Bangladesh and also talked with a journalist of Jagonews24.com.

He said, “Bangladesh will be affected seriously if the India and China evacuated water after making dams on international rivers.”

Gil also said, “Bangladesh has too low farmland, but much higher population. Nevertheless, Bangladesh is now a self-sufficient country in food production after doing the success in the agricultural sector. For this reason, water management should take into consideration the most seriously.”
