‘Rapist’ Shafat run away from home

Police on Monday raided the residence of Shafat Ahmed, an accused in a case filed over raping two university girls in Banani.

The members of law enforces failed to arrest Safat as he was absence in his residence.

‘10 to 12 police members went to his house no. 62 at Gulshan on Tuesday morning,’ said Safat’s father Apan Jewellers Dildar and added that his son went out from the house yesterday night.

In this connection, Abdul Matin, Inspector of Banani Police Station who is the Investigation officer in the case said that, the drive is underway against the accused residences.

On May 6, the two young women filed a case with Banani police against Shafaat Ahmed, 26, Nayeem Ashraf, 30, Sadman Sakif, 24, and Billal, 26, for allegedly raping them on March 28 at Raintree Hotel in Banani after a birthday party.
