Proposed rising retirement age of war heroes rejected
Proposed rising retirement age of freedom fighters who served in public service was rejected in cabinet meeting.
The decision was taken from a regular meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina at secretariat on Monday.
Ending the meeting, cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam ensured this to journalist.
The Supreme Court on November 16, 2015 upheld a High Court verdict that directed the authorities concerned to place before the cabinet a proposal in 60 days to increase the retirement age of freedom fighters in public service to 65 years from 57 years.
