Biswa Ijtema ends praying peace and prosperity

The three-day second phase of Biswa Ijtema, one of the largest congregation of the Muslims after Hajj was ended by praying peace and prosperity at Tongi, on the outskirts of capital Dhaka.

The final prayer started at 11:04am and ended at 11:32am and was conducted by Indian cleric Maulana Saad Ahmed.

Around three million Muslim devotees home and abroad took part in the final prayer, according to the organizers.

The Biswa Ijtema is being organized by Tablig Jamaat since 1946, and it is being held in two phases from 2012 to ease accommodation problem.

Prominent personalities of the country also joined in on the final prayer through live streaming of the event on several media.

The prayer was also transmitted through wireless sets and mobile phones for the convenience of devotees around the country.
