Pistol, suicide vest recovered from Shibganj militant den

Members of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police and bomb disposal unit have recovered one pistol and a suicide vest from the militant den at Shibnagar Trimohoni village in Shibganj upazila of the district.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station Habibul Islam confirmed this.

Meanwhile, the bodies of four suspected militants, including Abu, who were killed in suicidal blasts on Thursday during the operation `Eagle Hunt` have been sent to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.

He further said that the identities of the three other militants could not be known yet.

While contacted, superintendent of police of Chapainawabganj TM Mojahidul Islam said, the CID has not yet handed over the seizure list to the police.

The operation codenamed `Eagle Hunt` conducted by a team of Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police along with the local law enforcers at Shibnagar Trimohoni militant den came to an end on Thursday evening.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of Rajshahi Range Khurshid Hossain declared the operation closed.

After the operation, the CID and bomb disposal unit started working in the den.
