1 arrested for Australian High Commission bomb threat

Police have arrested a man for making a bomb threat against Australian High Commission in the capital’s Gulshan.

The arrestee is Tausif Hussain.

A team of Cyber Crime Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a drive arrested him on Thursday night.

Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP, confirmed the matter to the Jagonews24.com.

It is mentionable that, the Australian High Commission in Bangladesh received an email demanding Tk500,000 as extortion, with a threat of a bomb attack at the high commission office if it refuses to make the payment.

The email was sent from an unknown email account on April 25.
