PM urges rich man to come for developing education
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged to rich man to come forward with their helping hands for developing education.
Premier urged this while she was addressing at Kazi Mahbub Ullah memorial award giving ceremony at Jatiyo Shilpokola Academy on Saturday.
Sheikh Hasina said, ‘The literacy rate was only 45 percent in 1996. After assuming in power we have increased the rate rapidly. We are working to eradicate illiteracy from each district. Within a short time in 1998, we were able to increase the literacy rate’.
Professor AK Azad Chowdhury, Professor Hasina Khan, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Anisul Hoque and Bangladesh National Cricket Team captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza were among the awardees.
