4,000 new buses for city commuters: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said 4,000 more new modern buses would be put into plying on various routes in the city to facilitate better transportation of the commuters.

He said this to newsmen after the ninth meeting of Board of Directories of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) at Nagar Bhahan here.

Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Anisul Huq, Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokan and concerned secretaries, director general and district and pouro mayors were present in the meeting.

Quader said a new flyover will be constructed from city`s Fakirapul to Chunuputiya via Nightingale crossing and Babubazar.

The meeting also discussed about the construction of expressway from Gabtoli to Nabinagra.
