Biswa Ijtema’s 2nd phase begins

The second phase of Biswa Ijtema began on Friday morning on the bank of Turag River at Tongi, on the outskirts of the capital.

Biswa Ijtema, largest Muslim congregation, organized by Tablig Jamaat, will conclude on Sunday through the final prayers ‘Akheri Munajat’.

Gazipur City Corporation, district administration, RAB, police, Asnar-VDP have set up five control rooms. Fire Service and Civil Defence has also set up a control room.

Members from different law enforcement agencies have been deployed in and around the Ijtema ground for ensuring security of the devotees.

Several health centres have been set up at different parts of the venue along with beds and almost all first aid and other treatment facilities with doctors doing round-the-clock duties at each centre.

Bangladesh Railway is operating 28 special trains to carry the devotees of the two-phase Biswa Ijtema.

Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) is operating 228 buses for carrying the devotees to the Ijtema ground from different places, including the capital, and sending them back to their respective areas.

The first phase of three-day Biswa Ijtema was held from January 8 to 10.
