Maitree express makes fully air-conditioned

Maitree Express which operates between Dhaka and Kolkata has been made fully air-conditioned on Friday.

Railway Minister M Mujibul Haq inaugurated the special train service at cantonment railway station yesterday morning.

At the inaugural programme, the railway minister termed ‘the service’ as another New Year’s gift for the nation by the prime minister.

“A comfortable air-conditioned train service has been launched for the travelers in this special day,” the minister told the opening function.

Now-a-days railway sector has been witnessing huge progress, new coaches and engines are being procured and the passengers are enjoying quality services, he said.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardan Shringla, Railway Secretary M Feroz Salahuddin, Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Railway M Amzad Hossain, among others, were present at the inaugural programme.
