Militant`s bail bond guarantors to be brought to book
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Wednesday the government has decided to take legal action against the guarantors who gave bond for allowing bails to the militants.
"We have decided to take legal action against the guarantors upon whose bond the militants were released on bails, if they fail to place the culprits to the court," he said after the 6th meeting of a committee on combating militancy at Secretariat.
"There was an intelligence report that many of the militants have already left the country for which they could not appear to the court ignoring repeated summons by the court," he also said.
The minister said the committee has decided to take initiative for disposing pending cases related to militancy.
Intelligence agencies will monitor of foreign nationals and Rohingyas about their linkage of militancy activities, different websites and social media as part of the committee decision, he added.
The committee was formed with secretaries from nine ministries, representative of Bangladesh Bank, intelligence agencies officials and other concerned.
Among others, Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque, Home Secretary Dr Kamal Uddin, Law Secretary Abu Saleh Sk Md Zahirul Haque, Special Branch Chief Javed Patwari and other law enforcement agencies officials attended the meeting.
