Power purchase deal for 149 MW tomorrow

Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) will sign tomorrow a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Summit Power Limited to buy 149 megawatts electricity.

Under the deal, Summit Power Limited will commission a power plant at Kodda in Gazipur to supply the electricity in next 15 months.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid will witness the signing ceremony at Bidyut Bhaban in the capital city.

The tariff would be Taka 7.15 per kilowatt hour provided that the fuel would be imported privately at a rate of Taka 27.31 per litre. The contract period will be effective for a period of 15 years.
