Sagar-Runi murder: Tanvir’s bail petition filed again

A bail petition on behalf of Sagar-Runi murder accused Tanvir Rahman, has been filed with the High Court’s (HC) related bench on Sunday morning.

Tanvir has been detained for 21 months in connection with the much talked about Sagar-Runi murder case.

Advocate Fauzia Karim, defense lawyer of Tanvir, said the petition was filed with a HC bench, comprising justice ABM Mahmudul Haque and justice Muhmmad Akram Hossain.

Sagar Sarowar, news editor of private TV station Maasranga and his wife Meherun Runi, senior reporter of another channel ATN Bangla, had been brutally killed at their rented flat in the capital`s West Rajabazar on February 11 in 2012.

On February 12, 2012 Runi`s brother Nowsher Alam Roman filed the case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
