When mobile set becomes burden
Mobile sets in the modern world is like part and parcels of the people’s daily life and anyone cannot think pass a day without a mobile set for not only communication but also recording their moments.
However, sometimes this necessary appliance can be a burden for a person. Thousands of religious leaders popularly known as Alems in Bangladesh faced the same problem when they gathered for a conference in Dhaka on Thursday. They were barred to take mobile set along with them to the conference due to security grounds.
A total of 1,06,773 religious leaders across the country got card to join the programme at Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Thursday on the occasion of the 42nd founding anniversary of Islamic Foundation.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the chief guest at the programme, while Khatibs of Masjid-e-Haram and Masjid-e-Nababi took part as special guests.
All sort of electronic devices including, mobile set, camera and laptop were declared banned at the programme for security reasons.
However, most of the Alems came with mobile sets for their communication and to capture images. Some of them could manage to keep their sets to their relatives or known persons but many of them could not.
“Mobile set is a very necessary thing for our communication as most of us came from outside of Dhaka and want to stay in groups,” Barisal Islamic Foundation member Moulana Ilias Hossain said.
“We cannot take part in the programme as the police barred us to enter into the Udyan with mobile sets,” he added.
Moulana Ismail, came from Narayngonj, said, “This is unfortunate if we cannot capture pictures after taking part in such a big conference.”
